It was 31 December when, my beautiful mama Fel felt some intermitent contractions. She was already due by 20 December 2008 and she was waiting when would I finally be born. My dad and my mom, initiated a walking excercise inside the Navy Base for almost two hours. Then mama took some rest. before noon time, she and my dad went to Land bank, Harison Road to withdraw some cash for the new year celebration. Then my dad went to the Red Cross office to donate his type AB blodd. It was already a practice in the family to donate blood every three months. All members of the family have type AB blood.
After the blood extraction, my mom and dad went to SM Baguio to order one (1) bilao of pancit for the New Years celebration. Then they went home and my dad and ate Lalang cooked valenciana. Then the whole family went to Tito Dodjie's hjouse with Major Patrimonio and family. At about 9:30PM, while eating, mom, felt some contractions that that recurrs every 10 minutes. At about 10PM, the contractions recurr every 5 minutes which promted my mom and dad to prepare to go to the hospital as per advise by their OB (Dr Bernadeth Lizada). By 10:30PM my dad and my Mom went to the Sto. Niño hospital via our Mitsibishi Space Wagon. Upon arrival at the emergency room, my mom was checked and assessed by the duty Doctor. The dilatation was already 8 to 9 cm, so she was sent directly to the delivery room. My dad went to the chosen private room (Room 503) and waited there. While the world was celebrating the end of 2008 and the start of 2009, my mom gave birth to a beautiful baby girl at about 10:59PM. I was then weighing 3.05kg and measuring 50cm long. My dad visited me at the nursery while under the warmer. It was then so noisy outside because 2009 was almost there. My dad observed that my eyes were so wide open.
At about 2:00 AM, my mom was transfered to room 503 and immediately after I was roomed-in with my mom. My mom was still dizzy due to the after effect of the anesthesia. They were so happy to see me.
My dad, with the the concurrence of my mom, named me Femme Zoe. It is actually the name taken after my Lola Zoila. Femme means lady and Zoe was added to mean Lady Zoe. Femme was also deliberately added to make the members of the family to start with F. From Kuya Francis, Ate Fatima Faye and then me...Femme Zoe.
My dad went home immediately to fetch ate Fatima and Kuya Francis. At about 2:45AM my only brother and my only sister arrived and they were very excited to see me too. My mom tried to breast-fed me by she had mo milk yet. I was so hungry but I got nothing from her breast. At about 7:00AM, my dad asked permission from the nursery staff to allow me to take the formula milk. The nursery suggested the SIMILAC.
Tito Dodjie with his family, (Tita Yam, Kuya Ligie and ate Ning) and Tito Bong Patrimonio and tita Jing visited us at about 4:30PM of 01 January 2009. Tita Malou also visited us. We stayed at the hospital for almost three days.
